Momentum

Role
UX Designer

Momentum features a clean, intuitive design that organizes stocks by GICS industries, making it easy to track top performers over time. With dynamic charts, color-coded trends, and fluid animations, the app emphasizes simplicity and smooth navigation, aligning with the idea of market "momentum."

The Challenge

Traditional stock tracking tools often overwhelm users with data and lack a clear framework for exploration. I aimed to design an app that empowers users to navigate the market intuitively, enabling them to discover new stocks and investment opportunities.

The Approach

By organizing stocks by GICS industries and sectors, Momentum provides a structured yet intuitive way for users to explore market trends and uncover potential investments. The app aims to simplify the investment process, empowering users to approach the market with confidence and clarity.

Classification

Momentum organizes stocks using the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS), dividing them into 11 sectors. On the home page, users can first view the top 5 highest-performing sectors, followed by the top 5 lowest-performing sectors. From there, users can dive deeper into industry groups to explore individual stocks and their performance. Additionally, the app provides access to news associated with each industry, offering valuable context for investment decisions.
